Find Your Feet (FYF)Find Your Feet (FYF) is a local NGO dedicated to working with poor, rural communities to create lasting solutions to poverty. FYF envisions a world in which everyone has the right to build a future free from hunger and poverty and its mission is to mobilise local knowledge and skills, and promote the ownership and use of natural resources by poor rural communities in finding sustainable solutions to hunger, poverty and discrimination.
FYF implements development projects with support from a wide range of donors including the World Food Programme (WFP); The Royal Norwegian Embassy and NORAD through the Development Fund of Norway, USAID through Pact Malawi, Kindernothilfe, PLAN International-Malawi, UK Foundations and Trusts and many others across all the regions of Malawi.
The organization is now seeking 3 well qualified and experienced persons to fill the positions of Board of Trustees.
Key tasks
The Board is responsible for providing the organization with sound governance, fiduciary and strategic oversight and direction. The board oversees the operations of the organization, ensuring that the public’s trust is upheld, the mission addresses a community need, the practices are ethical, and legal requirements are met. The Board is also responsible for assuring the financial integrity and solvency of the organization and establishing procedures to safeguard the organization from fraud and risk.
Specific responsibilities
(i) To guide the Secretariat and provide advice on all matters affecting FYF;
(ii) To consider, review and approve the Secretariat’s proposals on policies, rules and regulations, and annual budgets;
(iii) To formulate and produce rules, regulations, by-laws, manuals, code of conduct and guidelines on any matter concerning the proper administration and management of FYF.
(iv) To receive and review audited accounts, annual reports, and review FYF’s performance;
(v) To manage, control, acquire and dispose of any property in order to promote the objectives and aims of FYF;
(vi) To engage in any resource mobilization activities for the benefit of FYF and to invest any funds not immediately required for use by the FYF;
(vii) To appoint and appraise the Executive Director;
(viii) To do all such lawful things as shall further and are incidental or conducive to the attainment of the said objectives or any of them.

Terms and Conditions
The term of office for Board members is three (3) years effective from date of appointment and may be appointed for a further 3-year term making a total of 6 years maximum. Costs for attending meetings will be appropriately compensated for.
