DISTRICT PROGRAMS MANAGER- (GRADE 16) I POSITION BASED IN MACHINGA DISTRICT

Purpose of the Position
To provide overall leadership and management to all programmes and projects in the district in accordance with WVs policies, procedures and donor requirements. Ensure capacity building of partners and staff within the district. This position will represent WV at the district and foster strategic collaborative relationships with key stakeholders such as government, NGOs and Faith Based Organizations (FBOs).

Knowledge, qualification and experience required

• Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences, Humanities and Development Studies or other related disciplines from a recognized tertiary institution. Postgraduate qualification in the aforementioned fields is preferred.
• 5 years demonstrated experience in project and financial management including designing, monitoring and evaluation
• 3 years with knowledge of, and/or proven experience in managing the similar position at management level.
• Experience in working independently with discretion, tact, patience and diplomacy,
• A clean driver’s license
• Demonstrated ability in supervision
• Good planning and organizational skills
• Tact and diplomacy in dealing with staff – related to work environment needs
• Ability to maintain effective working relationships with all levels of staff and public
