Circle for Integrated Community Development (CICOD)Circle for Integrated Community Development (CICOD) is a Malawian national non-
profit making Non Governmental Organisation with an integrated approach towards
development in the thematic areas of Sustainable Livelihoods; Environment and
Climate Justice, Preventive Health and Good Governance. In a consortium involving
Oxfam as lead with CICOD AND CADECOM as direct implementers, CICOD will be
implementing a project on Enhancing Access to Markets for Smallholder Farmers
in Malawi particularly in Kasungu District . The project will run from 18 Junuary
2022 to 17 January 2025. CICOD is calling for applications for the positions of Project
Officer tenable in Kasungu district.
1. PROJECT OFFICER
One based at Kasungu Boma and reporting to the Project Coordinator, the Project
Officer will have following responsibilities:
1. Support communities in the planning, implementation and monitoring and
evaluation of the project activities.
2. Facilitate a process to internalise understanding of the project by communities
and other stakeholders at district and community levels
3. Provide technical support in the community based project sustainability
initiatives
4. Facilitate training needs assessment, prepare training programmes and
arrange for training activities
5. Prepare and submit reports, case studies, documentaries, databases and
project technical proposals
6. Participate in all research activities planned and supported by CICOD or/and
collaborating partners.
7. Maintain close and constant linkage, interface and reference between CICOD
and communities as well as between CICOD and other stakeholders
8. Supporting the preparation of and participating in meetings involving project
communities/beneficiaries and/or other CICOD stakeholders
9. Supervise volunteers and offer technical support
Qualifications and Experience
• Both positions require candidates with a minimum of Degree in Agribusiness
Management or Agriculture Economics or equivalent professional
qualification from a recognised institution based on the applied position.
• The Project Coordinator will have a minimum of 5 years post training
experience in a similar project leadership and facilitation role and the rest of
the position will require a minimum of 3 years of experience.
• Both to have excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills
• Both to have participatory research, monitoring and evaluation skills
• Both to have sound analytical and report writing skills
• Both to have excellent computer knowledge
• Both to have Motorcycle Riding Licence
