PROJECT OFFICER – (GRADE 13) 3 POSITIONS BASED IN NTCHEU DISTRICT

Purpose of the position:
Responsible for on the ground day to day implementation of Restoration of Landscapes (Agroforestry. Natural Regeneration (NR) Farmer Managed Natural Regeneration (FMNR) and Natural Resource based Value Chain activities) within the designated project sites at Traditional authority level

Major Responsibilities:

Sensitisation, Mobilization of Beneficiaries and Training Households in Various Interventions,

  • Sensitizes and mobilizes communities/farmers/TAs on relevant project activities.
  • Mobilizes and provide training and support to farmers in Restoration of Landscapes (Agroforestry, Natural Regeneration (NR) Farmer Managed Natural Regeneration (FMNR) and Natural Resource based Value Chain
    activities and other related practices/technologies including data collection procedures for monitoring and evaluation

Monitoring & Evaluation and Participatory Assessment of Successes, Challenges, And Impact

  • Develops Traditional Authority-based monthly field action plans with relevant partner organizations and provide monthly updates on progress.
  • Assists the M&E Officer in data collection, analysis and reporting and provide input into the production of the project progress reports.
  • Identifies and document success stories and lesson learnt.
  • Collects data on project performance on monthly basis and or as required from time to time.
  • Coordinates all field activities with other project members of staff and other relevant key stakeholders at field level.
  • Develops weekly, monthly, and quarterly field supervision plans.
  • Submits monthly and quarterly reports and provide any updates as may be required from supervisors from time to time.

Qualifications, Education/Knowledge/Technical Skills and experience required

  • Bachelor Degree in Agriculture; Forestry or related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years practical experience in FMNR, NR agro forestry Value chains or related fields.
  • Familiar with relevant small livestock and VS&L approaches and initiatives
  • Familiar with decentralized extension system and care group/lead farmer/FFS extension approaches.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and leadership skills.
  • Computer literate in MS Word and Excel, as well as email correspondence
