Project Manager – To be based in Lilongwe
We are looking for a highly motivated, organised and experienced individual to work on the implementation and delivery of Cooperative Principle 6 Project. Applicants should have a background in people and project management, cooperative enterprises, as well as experience in external relations and communications.

This is an exciting and dynamic role at MAFECO, jointly with UK Partners, and would be particularly suited to someone who is keen to develop their project management skills with international partners.

Person specification
We are looking for a candidate who:

• Has a Bachelor’s degree in either Agri business, Agriculture or Agricultural economics obtained from a recognised institution of high learning.
• Is confident, self-motivated, with great attention to detail, and who can work in a dynamic environment with multiple deadlines to meet.
• Has a proven track record of not less than 3 years, in project implementation, management and reporting to funders.
• Has a strong knowledge and passion for cooperative enterprises.
• Has strong communication skills, with the ability to work as part of a growing team.
• Has the ability to engage effectively with senior external stakeholders and interact successfully with the media.

Main duties and responsibilities

• Reporting to the Executive Directors
• Lead the delivery of the Cooperative Principle 6 project, including project planning, project management, reporting.
• Facilitating the project steering committee alongside the Executive Director.
• Develop a strong communications strategy about the Cooperative Principle 6 initiative, in line with MAFECO’s strategic objectives.
• Lead on drafting and submission of funding applications that could complement the Cooperative Principle 6 initiative in Malawi, as opportunities arise.
• Making public presentations alongside colleagues.
• Contribute to the wider work of MAFECO, as required from time to time.
